UKRI Cross-Sector Battery Showcase 2025
Venue: The De Montfort University, Leicester UK
Innovate UK Cross-Sector Battery Systems Innovation Network held an industry in-person event at De Montfort University in Leicester on 19th March 2025 bringing together representatives of the whole battery supply chain together with a diverse range of cross-sector markets (aerospace, automotive, defence, maritime and rail).
It was a great event to network at, hear about the latest updates for batteries, explore new projects/products and much more.
Our PI-KEM energy experts Dillan Patel and Geoffrey Handley-Harrison had some great conversations with new and current customers regarding some interesting research projects they have coming up.

The Cross-Sector Battery Systems Innovation Network is a community co-funded by Innovate UK and the Faraday Battery Challenge and was launched in 2020 with a mission:
“To create an open and collaborative cross-sectoral community for researchers and innovators in battery manufacturing (including next generation batteries), the related supply chain and end-users”
With the community having now reached over 5,000 members, this event will provide a unique opportunity to meet new partners and collaborators across the battery ecosystem.
This event aims to bring together representatives of the whole battery supply chain together with a diverse range of cross-sector markets (aerospace, defence, maritime, rail and automotive).
