On Sunday 15th September our PI-KEM Plodders put their best foot forward (or in some instances, their best electric scooters) and completed 69 laps of Stowe Pool in Lichfield to raise vital funds for the Kids Village Charity. Lichfield’s first-ever ultramarathon, ‘One More Lap’ has so far raised nearly £16k for the charity which is set to be the UK’s first respite holiday village for sick children & their families. The village, set to be built in outside Lichfield, will be a place for children to enjoy time together with their families in nature, free from daily challenges of battling a serious illness.

Many thanks to all our PI-KEM Plodders – Fiona Rouse, Ruth Madden, Sally Wills, Emma Shott, Brigid Ray, and Adam Gadsby, who between them ran, plodded, and scooted for 12 hours, 8am – 8pm, through rain and shine to raise money for this amazing cause. Our Sales Support Manager Emma also raised everyone’s spirits by adding a dinosaur, alien, and Cousin IT outfit appearance into the mix!

It was also wonderful to see Ian Rouse, our founder turn up to not only support, but also complete a lap with our Operations Director Fiona Rouse on their ‘recovery vehicles’. Many thanks also to the PI-KEM Pit Crew who supported the Plodders, by offering bar snacks, drinks, homemade shortbread, and a bacon butty or two! Thankyou to everyone who supported the event – everyone who cheered us on and all who donated.

Thanks also to the organisers of the event, and our ‘Pit-Stop’ sponsor Embello. We knew we were never going to be the team who completed the most laps, we were confident we could pull-off a well decorated pitch … and we’re glad to announce that we were official winners of the best tent for our Pit-Stop themed camp!

Congratulations to everyone who took part – it was a fantastic day!
